Quarter 4 2020 Goals
Goals || Tags: goals ||Happy October!
Holy Moly what?! Yes, it is October. The leaves are changing and the nights are cool. I am desperately still trying to hold on to Summer so I’m still sitting in my deck chair, even though sometimes I need a blanket.
I’m sure everyone feels like 2020 is the weirdest year. While everything feels upside down throughout the world, our little corner here in the Atlantic provinces of Canada is doing pretty well. Cases of the virus are low currently, and while we have to wear a mask in public spaces, we are able to travel around the “Atlantic Bubble” freely.
I can hardly believe that we are in the last 3 months of the year. I have so many things I am looking forward to, especially our trip to Cape Breton next week (we are staying in luxury camping domes!!). We also have many family traditions that I look forward to like our Gingerbread House weekend.
First I want to recap my Q3 goals:
Save $1000 for a deck reno – We did save around $850, however we didn’t do any renos! Materials were hard to come by, and we decided to put this off until next year.
Finish CEU course – check! Finished the course in August so my massage therapy continuing education is all done for the year.
Shop at more locally owned stores – This has been going really well I think. I started getting some veggies at Tomavo, which is a great store if you live in the HRM, or Moncton areas! We have been exclusively buying Nova Scotian roasted coffee, which has been really fun to try. I’ve also ordered a few books from local stores. Definitely going to continue looking at local stores first before big box stores.
Go offline one day per week – This has been a huge fail. I’ve set time limits on my phone but still manage to get online. I really need to work on my time management.
Quarter 4 Goals
Declutter bathroom items and linen closet
I’ve been watching The Home Edit on Netflix, and of course now I just want to organize everything! Most rooms got deep cleaned and organized during my 3 months off work in the Spring, but I didn’t really tackle the bathroom or the linen closet. Basically the closet is a mess where I shove everything.
Shop Locally For Christmas Gifts
Not surprising considering I’ve given up Amazon, and I’m on a mission to support local businesses! I can’t wait to pick out some locally made goodies to give as gifts!
Eat 50% Vegetarian
We ate vegetarian for the entire month of September (except for one weekend at my parents). We’re not strangers to eating vegetarian, we spent the year of 2016 without buying meat, but I tend to eat healthier when we buy meat. I hope to try more vegetarian recipes this quarter!
Save $1200
Although this money isn’t for anything in particular, I’d like to make a savings goal. We haven’t been saving as much this year, and we have a few possibly large purchases coming up!
Final Thoughts
In these last 3 months of the year, I want to remind myself that this year still matters, even if it has been horrible or hasn’t looked the way we thought it would.
