Things I Will Never Stop Spending Money On
Finance || Tags: Money ||Personal finance bloggers always give advice on what not to spend your money on. We’ve all heard of the latte factor right? How much money we can save by cutting out coffee, or takeout, or gadgets. When I read Ramit Sethi’s book I Will Teach You To Be Rich, one part really stuck with me:
“Spend extravagantly on the things you love, and cut costs mercilessly on the things you don’t.”
This was like a big HELL YES to me! I don’t have to stop spending on the things I love?! There are things that make life worth living, and it’s going to be different for everyone, but here are the things I’ll never stop spending money on:
Travel
Duh. I mean that’s the whole point of my blog right? If you told me I could never travel again, you might as well lock me up because I’ll go insane. I love planning trips, experiencing new places, and coming home feeling the same yet different.
Disney
Yeah I guess this falls under travel, but I’ll never stop going to Disney. There’s always new things being added and changed, yet it’s the same magical place. I would love to be able to visit more frequently.
Books
I love books, I love browsing the book store, or the second hand shop for hidden gems, I love reading and the feeling of turning the page. I will never get an ereader for that reason! I do borrow a fair bit from the library but I’ll never stop buying them to keep.
Quality Shoes
I don’t buy shoes often, but when I do I don’t buy cheap shoes. Feet are important and I want to buy quality shoes that wont fall apart. Loving my new pair of Keens I bought a few months ago! Good shoes help me exercise while preventing injury, work on my feet most of the day and walk around the new cities I love to explore!
My Health
You only get one body, so it’s important to take care of it! I have a subscription to an online workout library, I get regular massages, and we buy pretty healthy food. Could I save money by not doing all of that? Probably but we’d pay for it in the long run. I want to be fit and healthy when I’m older and retired so I can enjoy my hard work.
Of course if we were in a situation where we strapped for cash I would cut back temporarily on these things but they’re just too important to stop completely.
What are some things you’ll never stop spending money on?
